I'm actually the same bro. Going to grad school for classical studies. The atmosphere in academic philosophy is not for me. Plus doing a phd in classics necessitates learning French and German in addition to Latin and Ancient Greek. That would be five of the most literarily rich languages you could imagine (including English).

Continuing: if you have to go to Uni, then you should get a classical studies degree. I'm not from the U.S., but from what I hear English degrees are quite simply ridiculous there. Also, you should already know everything they teach at a English school. You probably know English-language grammar/history and literature already.
