I have this fantastic idea for a novel but my prose is not good enough yet and I don't want to ruin the novel with it.
I've been writing some short stories which I think are not half bad (especially considering my homelands immense lack of good literature or literature at all).
And since I'm aSTEMlord[/spoiler[ with what little time I have left from studying I spend reading or improving my prose at a snails pace.

I am on a training course at the workplace, so I have to do it, but basically I have been doing all kinds of these tests at my country in my whole life so it shouldn't have been a problem.
