Alright. Depends what you're after Mishima for. If it's the psychosexual angst, well that warms up later in the Sea of Fertility books, but isn't so big in this one where the main man is hetero.
So what you have instead is his weird relationship with cultural nostalgia and people trying to live up to this ideal past of total purity. That's pretty fascinating if you're into the whole Japan as a closed island thing. Maybe you have to take with a pinch of salt when a dude likes suicide so much.
And, yeah, blurbs say it but it's true. It's a Prousty kind of book.
