I liked chapter 7. It was really dark and there was a sense of....idk.....like something reallly dark and edgy going on in the plot you know? I can't put it into words.

My favourite was the part about Amalfitano - it's both comical and bittersweet while the otherworldly horror vibe of Santa Teresa become more palpable. But then on top of that there's the extra sting of the very real fear of a parent losing their child. Even while Amalfitano is a weirdo who is losing his mind you can feel the uneasy fear coming off the page.

I wasn't even phased about the part about the crimes or whatever. Didn't wince once. I watch hardcore shit on the deepweb all fucking day so yeah....I'm kind of desensitizationized to rape. This book was pussy shit. I like the name though because I'm a satanist.

The part with the academics in the beginning was so comfy. I spent a couple weeks with this weird ennui centered around the fact that I'd never have a literary friendship with a qt professor that blossomed into sincere love built around shared passion.
