Whats a good book of poetry to pick up and start reading, and learning poetry.

Sincerely, a fag

How did this bitch afford fake tits at her age
>>

Her daddys of course
>>
Holy shit
>>
Bump , i am very interested if there is some kind of poetry you can say that sound cool but it is not making you look like a pretentious snob.
>>
>>7812806
Yeah I'm genuinely kind of upset about OPs pic

>tfw literally none of the thousands of hours you've spent reading literature mean anything to chicks like that

It's a mixed feel

She has fake tits and her hair looks like a wig. Don't put yourself down.

The pleasure of fucking pretty girls is not as great as you think it is. Sure, there's pleasure and there's a thrill to it, but the pleasure isn't greater than fucking an ugly girl (ugly girls are often better lays even because they try hard to compensate for their appearance) and the thrill is easily outweighed by something as simple as saying something mean to an ugly girl the moment you come inside her and watching her cry or something.

Or just picking a fight with some random lad. Or reading a nice book or something.
>>
>>7812769
Her dad had fake tits?
>>
>>7813128
Between acquisition and insertion surely they were his property.

One could argue they are still his property, giving new meaning to the phrase 'daddy's little girl'.
>>
>>7813123
Sex is really quite boring, actually.
Either that or I'm doing it with the wrong people. I hope it's the latter.

Sandburg, Hass, Aiken, and Atwood.

It's the former. People will tell you it's the latter, but that is mostly the emperor's clothes syndrome.

In Houellebecq's Elementary Particles there's a character who poses that while in the past the social norm was to feign a complete disinterest in sex while being secrectly interested in it, today the social norm is to feign a complexe interest in sex even when not necessarily interested in it. People openly pride themselves in being sex obsessed, in being widely sexually active, in being 'sexually openminded' and so on. People are actually ashamed if they don't fuck enough, celibacy is mocked and ridiculed. Beneath this, this character claimed that we are all way less interested in sex than we claim to be.

I think he's right.

He certainly sounds right.
>>
>>7813058
Yeah but I have a fetish for fake tits and have literally seen only 2 pairs in real life, and even then only in passing.
>>
I'm not a poetry guy but I like Atwood and Byron.
>>
>>7813340
I'm currently in a relationship with a beautiful literary qt3.14, but I often feel like this too and almost feel some pressure if we were to stop having sex.
>>
>>7813058
what does that matter? The only thing that matters is who hot she is and how she looks. You're not gonna be fucking her personality or her realness...
>>
>>7813550
I once fucked a girl's realness, shit was cash. Shouldn't habe fucked her personality tho, sge was never the same after that.
>>
>>7812767
She was 24 when the pic was taken
>>
>>7813550
Yes you are, you are fucking the person that she is, else you might just as well be fucking a fleshlight. Is your mind not connected to your penis in any way but at the most basic of levels, the "penis see viable vagina, penis goes hard, penis wanna spill seed, long live the gene" level? Call me a faggot if you will but my intellectual virile member starts rolling its eyes, as it were, and goes floppy at the first wrong thing she says. By that I don't mean it she's dumb; she might be too smart or too mean or too arrogant or too submissive -- whatever it is, if I don't like her I'm not going to enjoy hey pussy.
>>
>>7813340
For sure. Tbh, I don't use porn, and women I have been with tell me I have a high sex drive, but sometimes I'm horny 3 times day, sometimes I don't really want sex for a week. During times I don't really care for it I feel pressure to keep up my appetite because it's considered "impressive" or manly. I've gone so far as to push for sex when both parties are not particularly in the mood, then if I'm turned down I say it's okay I don't want to pressure, and get goodboy points; if they agree I fuck to keep appearances.
>>
>>7813540
It doesn't matter anon. If you cannot provide pleasure to your girlfriend, i can do it. Sure you dont mind.
>>
>>7813340
>that is mostly the emperor's clothes syndrome.
please for the love of god can you all stop

i've seen this phrase more times on /lit/ in the past week than i had my entire life before

>I make a thread asking about poetry

I think this shows something, note to self. Men like tits over books.

Anybody know a good anthology of English/American verse that is reasonably portable? I have the Norton and Oxford books + Golden Treasury. One is too large and the other two decrepit.

try william carlos williams.

Knowledge defeats its own end
approaching the state of heaven
when it envisions
through the glass
delicately adjusted in the
sliding tubes
—to prove death inevitable—
the red and blue dots
of anilene stained blood which
shout derisively at our despair

But the child
walks laughing from
room to room of her gentle home

She is eleven and
her parents love her very much

Over her
the trees hold their leaves
dripping with the rain
shining green

This afternoon she will ride in the bus
to the railroad station

There will be a locomotive
and cars and people running around—
bags to carry—The lake
beckons in the distance—
But
she is an angel, already in
heaven, the earth

is a toy balloon under her feet—
with her girlish shoes she
pushes it back—
it falls away into banality—
her wrinkling brown eyes have robbed it
of its meaning—

It is she

The Promenader—
whom men see and do not discover—

Princess Marion
eaten by curious wrongs

I'd say any piece of classic, lyrical poetry like The Illiad or Beowulf or the Mahabharata would be a good book of poetry to slide my dick betwe–I mean, to pick up and start reading.

Her skin color is certainly related to the appearance of her hair which looks like Odysseus' setting foot on shore.
Eyes are nice.

Hey, Op. Like you, poetry is not my forte. However, I have taken it upon myself to dive into poetry for my spring reading. I recommend to you 3 collections of poetry. I know you can get at least two of these off Project Gutenberg:

"Where Water Comes Together With Other Water" by Raymond Carver

"Evening" by Anna Akhmatova

"The Black Riders and Other Lines" by Stephen Crane

All three of these poetry collections are short, sharp, soft-spoken, and fragile, like porcelain knives. Only Crane and Carver wrote theirs in free verse, but Anna wrote with remarkable and accessible form. I think you could benefit from some biographical research before or after you read these as all three writers wrote from a very personal place, which is what makes their singularity effect so impressive.
