Perhaps, but season 1 Effy inspires the most erotic short stories.
>>
I saw like two episodes of this shit show but I remember seeing this kid and his taste in music/movies/books summed with the fact he's the cool hot one and you could just visualize the sad, balding, 45 year old screenwriter trying to validate his lifestyle and tastes through that character
>>
>>7745154
by /lit/ you mean completely devoid of personality other than what he thinks he should emulate to be perceived as sophisticated/intelligent/well read/wise etc? if so then yeah.
>>
>>7745196
He's pretty much like that throughout the entire first season, then something happens in the finale that completely changes his character for the second season.
>>
>>7745196
That's what's great about the show though. To start with you're thinking, "Oh great look at this screenwriter's idea of a 'cool guy', who I'm supposed to like. But I don't, I think he's a prick". But then you realise that actually the screenwriter thinks he's a prick too.

but /lit/ are virgins (not saying that being a viirgin is bad thing tho, women arent worth damn)
>>
>>7745196
That's some heavy shit right there
But on the other hand, isn't that the whole point of these stupid teenage shows? For the characters to serve as some sort of alter ego for the viewers who's lives are not scripted with all these exciting, emotion provoking experiences?

>it's a "writer tries to implement cultural preferences into sect of society that would never really come into contact with them" episode

I'm so sick of this shit.

Particularly when they write black, ghetto characters making quirky cultural references that only white nerds would get. It's the new blackface.

Are you fucking retarded? Did you even watch Mad Men? Throughout the entire series Pete is a character that is always a step ahead of the others when it comes to 'new' things. Don mentions this explicitly when he tries to get Pete to come with him when they make the new agency.

I'm not saying Pete is the 'type' that would love this book or the audience Pynchon is aiming for, but I'm not surprised at all that this would have been a book he heard buzz about and is checking it out.

>>7745807
I don't think you know what you're talking about. There was plenty of talk about Pynchon when V. and CL49 came out in critical reviews and journals and among the counterculture in general. There are plenty of pieces of writing and even interviews and documentaries about Pynchon explaining this.

You just sound like a shitposter though.

Brian from Family Guy, unfortunately

You can't give a blowjob with your mouth closed. What a retarded poseur cunt!

Well Pete was a beginner writer, he was pissed when Ken published that story and started writing his own.

>Jean-Paul Sartre

Jean-Paul Sartre is an assigned author in many schools in France. It isn't “patrician” to read it and you should rather pick a book instead of wasting hours in front of a TV show to wank over a fictional character more well-read than you are.
>>
>>7748780
This, her book challenge is super hard. Tons of obscure classics and fem /lit/ mixed.
>>
>>7749684
Some real shit too:

>The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood
>The Five People You Meet in Heaven
>Girl, Interrupted
>The Godfather: Book 1
>A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius
>Life of Pi

sauce: http://bookreviews.me.uk/rory-gilmore-reading-challenge/
>>
>>7749697
A girl reading at her level can be excused for reading trash sometimes, just like some of the "patricians" around here make excuses for Gene Wolfe and Bakkar

>Cousin Bette by Honor’e de Balzac
>Dead Souls by Nikolai Gogol
>The Fall of the Athenian Empire by Donald Kagan
>The Gnostic Gospels by Elaine Pagels
>The Last Empire: Essays 1992-2000 by Gore Vidal
>My Lai 4: A Report on the Massacre and It’s Aftermath by Seymour M. Hersh
>Being read by a teenage girl

Sometimes I think some male writer on that show was /lit/ and was creating a waifu
