A good philosophical work should not be sensational, maybe read Zarathustra or something.

Chesterton maybe, although it might be a bit lighter than what you want, but it's pretty fun stuff. I think his best novel is The Man Who Was Thursday.

If you're willing to concede to a drama play, I think that Homecoming by Harold Pinter is as nihilistic as it gets. Also, Moravagine by Blaise Cendrars is very good, too.
