I doubt he'll complete 27 volumes.
Not worth 500+ dollars and over 13 years of waiting. I read the first and would be willing to try the rest out at the library. It is really not compelling and he is just asking you to trust him to not waste your time and money. Whether you do or not is dependent on how you've felt about his previous work.
