Honestly probably one of the most prolific collections of contemporary literature I've seen in years. I can almost smell the turning of aged pages and the sound of the noose I wish you were tying to hang yourself.
Terrible but that's why you posted it.

How do people not get bored reading this much fantasy?

reading any fantasy at all. I tried reading dune and i felt like i was wasting my time and bored to death after two chapters

not OP but I do enjoy a lot of fantasy. It's mainly because fantasy really let's me relax utterly and completely. I feel like in literature I feel my perspective is changed, whereas when I read fantasy the world around me get's changed. It's refreshing to momentarily live in a completely different world and have no one else know I'm there, but me and the book.
I'm surprised people can read non-stop literature to be quite frank.

Dune is a waste of time. I've read 20-30 fantasy books easily and Dune is shit.
>>7667143
I'm not against fantasy in general, but reading it that much and that often, doesn't it all start to run together?
>>7667151
Fantasy has certain tropes that get heavily looked down upon. The trick is finding the gold in the dirt. Anthony Ryan has a very solid first novel and a good series that has very weak tropes. Peter V. Brett introduced books that have a more unique concept behind them(The idea of all towns being warded against demons that only come out at night). The Broken Empire by Mark Lawrence introduced a weird sci-fi but cool roughness that is needed in any novel. Even Bardon Sanderson who isn't that great of an author created an incredibly in depth book with the Stormlight Archieve series.
If you want fantasy that is honestly just elegant and extremely enjoyable check out Scott Lynch's "The Lies fo Locke Lamora" It's not literature but it is a damn good book/series and truly enjoyable

The Painted Man was okay, but not exactly unique.
OP is just shit I read in middle school. I haven't touched anything on that shelf since I was 12.

Let me guess, you have a spanish only speaking GF and you buy her books from authors you read (in english because you don't read in spanish) and want to include her.
She doesn't even really read them, does she?

I 100% agree. His writing is pretty mediocre at best but he does an amazing job at engaging the reading and making it feel rich.
