What does /lit/ thinks about Foundation and its sequels?

I liked it and then Asimov introduced some character described as looking like the Domino's Noid who could do space magic and then I thought it was shit.

I think it was in the second and third books. I stopped reading them because I discovered /lit/ and learned that genre fiction is not befitting the tastes of patrish individuals

Book one is pretty great, books two and three are k. Like the other dude said, I couldn't deal with the space mind reading bullshit.

I once picked up the trilogy and fell in love. Never touched the rest, other then that i usually hate asimov, would rather read verne.

One of the best series I've ever read, surely the best in science fiction.

Like all of Asimov's work:

>Genuinely imaginative science fiction
>Good concepts
>very basic(if not bad) prose

Readable and absolutely enjoyable if you know what you're getting in for, but unbearable if you don't. I enjoyed it, but understand if it's not your thing.

The trilogy is the best science fiction I've read.

Basic style, cardboard cutouts of characters, I don't think Asimov knew what a woman looked like.

Your time is better spent on other authors. Like Wyndham, Hamilton, Reynolds (Chasm City or the Inhibitor series for starters).
