I'm reading through A Confederacy of Dunces, and I'm enjoying the comedy a lot. Ignatius seems like proto /r9k/ anon, it's pretty great.
There's something that I feel like I'm missing about him though. What's the significance of his Big Chief writing tablets? I'd never heard about them before until I started reading ACoD, so I get the feeling that I'm missing another magnitude of absurdity.

I'll add that Ignatius lacks the self-awareness and, by consequence, the self-loathing the r9k types have.
