One is a collection of his career's best works, the other is an early book he tried to have published. NYRB is a better publisher but Wordsworth will give you a better indication of his oeuvre.

They're sort of apples and oranges, in terms of comparing them. The NYRB collection in the OP pic is different because the stories in its are selected to show a different side of Chekhov than the one that might come to mind at first, since (like Dickens) he was often more playful in his earlier writings.

What's the best edition of Chekhov? Preferably covering his oeuvre, but with a good translation and supplementary material? A complete works would also be nice.
