This book is terrible. This book is Reddit incarnate. There is no doubt about that. However, I have a strong compulsion to buy it. Ishmael, I know you're out there. Please put it back up on Lulu or provide a download link-not just the viewable Google Doc. I'll give you your few shekels, you won't even have to donate it to charity.
Now, so this can stay on the board until Ishmael sees it, let's discuss this "book" and compare it to the /lit/ canon. How does it hold up to Tundra, the sequels, Kolsti, and Hypersphere? Did we automatically assume it was an abomination without taking the time to look into it? Should we have given it the benefit of the doubt?
Why would you want to own it if you just said it was shitty
How can i self publish anonymousely? Im thinking about writing some memebook and spamming on here for extra bucks from meme suckers
>>7590978
You have to have a book written by enough people to excuse it's shittiness.
>>7590984
>to excuse its shittiness
Implying this reddit-tier book is excusable
>>7590977
>not wanting a piece of 4chan history even if it's shit

Obviously it's awful, it's the reddit users wanting to do a "oo me too!" in the wake of Hypersphere. I tried to tell them that it would turn out awful just like tundra 2 but they didn't listen.
>>7591125
Okay but I still want to own it
Ishmael where you at
>>7591125
So what. Hypersphere is an "oo me too!" of tundra 2, which was just an "oo me too!" of the original. What do you have to say for yourself? Are you ashamed? You should be.
>>7591133
OP says:
Not by any means. The concept of lit writing a book together is the only similar thing. Tundra 2 is shit, possibly below pictures of DFW. Tundra 3 and Kolsti are surprisingly decent in comparison.
>>7590955
>Pictures of DFW
link to this? only reference in google is to this thread
>>7591125
>>7591133
>implications
I would have shared the Warosu archived thread that skyrocketed interest in what was to become Hypersphere, but it's offline. I can imagine Ishmael's work is parody, more so Tundra: Miami. Hypersphere just seemed to work out in suddenness, no immediate predecessor (unless you count Defunct).
>>7590990
>Implying Tundra and Hypersphere weren't reddit-tier garbage
Kek
Yeah, look, I made this book to prove just how much reddit has fucked up this board.
And if you were part of making this book, you're the cancer that's killing /lit/.
I am not going to put this book back up on Lulu, because people shouldn't be paying money for reddit-tier shit. As for the one idiot that bought it though, I fulfilled my promise of donating the money to the charity and $2 was donated to WikiLeaks.
Again, this book was purely made to show just how much that one post to /r/4chan has ruined this board.
>>7591334
Yeah yeah okay damage control we get it. Now put it back up, I want every bit of /lit/ history, including Reddit's invasion and attempted assimilation. At least when everyone started calling it out.
>>7591577
You really want to buy it?
Really?
>>7590955
This book is for faggots. Go back to Reddit.
>>7591586
Solely for the purpose of owning every piece of shit book that comes out of /lit/. It's a historical piece, shitty as it may be
>>7591596
Whatever you say, here you go.

Obvious fucking redditor in disguise being self depreciative then immediately trying to sneak this decisively reddit canon book into the /lit/ canon.
No.

/lit/ is for the discussion of literature. Please take your discussion of this ""book"" of reddit canon to >>>/r/books
>>7591133
how to detect a redditor - he thinks Hypersphere was ann 'oo me too' of tundra 2, or that tundra 2 was even a large work. Seriously you make it so obvious
>>7591334
I seem to remember the OP having more than just Ishmael as his trip, suspicous
>>7591606
Nope, I'm the real deal.
>>7591599
Thank you and fuck you. Sorry your reputation was ruined on this board as a result of this book.
It cost me $4 shipped, I'm not making a big sacrifice.
>>7591334
>I made this book to prove just how much Reddit has fucked up this board
>>7591133
>thinking Tundra 2 was the last /lit/ book before Hypersphere
>>7591613
Believe whatever you want to believe, but "Pictures of DFW" is proof that reddit is all over /lit/, has ruined it, and these group projects past Tundra are fucking terrible.
>>7591629
>I made a book to prove something and now I don't want you to read it.
>>7591646
Don't care about the reputation, this trip was only used for the book.
If I took the route of Hypersphere did and just let everyone do whatever the fuck they wanted, reddit wouldn't have added their content to it. Why? Because it wouldn't be organized, it wouldn't be controlled by one person making all the real decisions.
>>7591652
It's back up on Lulu, and you can still read it on the Google Drive link if you still have it. I just don't want people to pay money for the shit that is killing this board.
>>7591334
I came up with the idea for the format, but I didn't write anything for it. where does that put me?
>>7591655
What format?
>>7591657
the multiple stories related to the same literary person. that was me
>>7591687
Yeah, that was fine.
>>7591687
No one gives a fuck
>>7591687
>tfw not a faggot redditor
>only really been there to see some raids organized by other boards
>been browsing 4chan since 2006
>made a story for Pictures of DFW.
>It's so bad that people now think I'm a redditor
'no'
>>7591992
Top kek
Which one did you write?
>>7591995
The Book of Despair
It started off good, intentionally pretentious and hints of 4chan's absurdist shock humour, had a lot of ideas for it but run out of time and half-assed the last parts.
I'll do better next time once the reddit filth is dealt with and the next project due.
>>7591334
What was the /lit/ post on reddit? I was just assuming that some shitposters from one of the shitposting boards were trying to push the 'reddit' meme here. Did something actually happen? Did /lit/ get famous?
>>7592126
A bunch of different 4chan things have appeared on Reddit and Imgur lately. Redditors are coming here and the Reddit scare is half shiteposting and half seriousness. Bumping with image.
>>7590955
Was any story worth salvaging?
>>7592165
That and a few other /lit/ things like the top 100 books have created popularity there.
>>7592176
Fair enough, it only became obvious that it wasn't just cross board shitposting with the hypersphere sticky and pictures of dfw though
>>7591992
are you me senpai
I feel like no one even read mine
>>7592211
1st step to being accepted as a true 4channer : tell people to go to reddit.
2nd step: Use "le"
Welcome, I hope you enjoy your stay - but watch out , thar be trolls! :^)
>>7592217
/r/brotips
thanks bro
>>7592221
You seem quite familiar with reddit
/r/suicide
Flashbird and the peach farmer are the only worthwhile books to come out of /lit/.
>>7591334
Nice defence, dumbass.
You were defending yourself for so long over claims of it being reddit-teir and that it was only a small project. You were serious about it. Admit it, no one even cares.
>>7591992
I'm in the same boat, Anon. I'm forever tarnished with the guilt of having contributed to Reddit: The Novel.
