Scariest book I have ever read.
I see too much of myself in Juancho

Yes, reminded me a lot of Notes from the Underground. The writing is very good aswell, the last passage about the tunnel is really something else.
Assuming you mean prose: Bolaño, Cortázar, Borges, Rulfo, Baroja,Espriu
I readthe English translated versionfor the first time a few days ago. I absolutely hated Juan, but overall loved everything about the book.
As >>7518874 said, the passage when he's describing being in the tunnel is great.
.
i read it
it's ok
Didn't read anything from Alberto Laiseca? It's like PKD on acid without acid...

Blasted through it in a single day. Pretty amazing, though I think it's in debt to Poe as much as Camus.

I think it's more in debt with Mauppasant than Poe

>tfw i don't want Los Sorias to become a meme

It is quite straightforward and the prose is not too complicated either. I guess it depends on how much Spanish you know already.
I would like to recommend pic related to anybody learning Spanish. It's an anthology of short-short stories from all literary traditions accross the globe, collected and translated by Borges. Most of them are not even a page long, so it's perfect for begginers, but it's full of quality literature. You'll find all sorts of legends, parables, flash fiction, fairy tales aswell as some stories from masters like Kafka or O' Henry

i don't mind if this happens. I wish more readers of Los Sorias.
