>tear jerker thread
Hey /lit/, I just finished watching Inside Out for the first time. It has been over a year since I've cried like that, and it felt good... Now, I have read some great books from this sub, but I desire a good cry. Give me some great books that made you shed more than a few tears.
Perhaps sorrow isn't popular tonight.

What kind f sad book do you want? Family sad, mortality sad, relationship sad? I can recommend Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller or Goodbye Chunky Rice by Craig Thompson.

I was thinking more of the Death of a Salesman sad. Family sad would be great too.
Thanks anon for posting an actual response.

I don't know if you're familiar with The Mountain Goats' music, but the songwriter / lead guy wrote this novel last year. I've always been cynical of non-literary artists deciding to try their hand at writing prose, but this is a rare case of it working, and working very well. If you know anyone with any kind of physical malady, this is bound to tear you up. Oh and If you're a fan of those "choose your own adventure" roleplaying books, that'd be a bonus.

Notes wasn't sad, the guy mostly did it to himself, even though some people were dicks for no reason

Flowers for Algernon made me cry like a lil bitch

>Notes wasn't sad,
>the guy mostly did it to himself
if that prevents a work from being sad then i guess we better start laughing at tragedies

I actually laughed at some of his more autistic momentspacing around a room with people who hate you just to spite them

the only real pathos is at the end of apropos of we snow, the rest are just humorous hijinks.
pretty sure you were meant to laugh at a lot of the first half too.
Stoner. It will rip up your heart and shit on your soul.
There's been only one book I've ever read that brought me to tearsMarley and me
N-no joke.
