He probably could have planned his suicide a little better to be quite frank. It would have been more respectful to do it privately leaving a letter instead of giving a speech. Did make headlines though

Personally, Temple of the Golden Pavilion is my favourite Mishima.

Sea of Fertility is Mishima on hardmode. I've only made it through Spring Snow thus far - it's fantastic, but it's really dense and requires a pretty attentive reading. Kind of having a feel for Mishima and what he's about helps a lot going in, too, because most of his particular ways of looking at the world are explored more subtly and it would be easy to not track with parts of the emotional narrative or some of the autobiographical bits.
