Thoughts on Starship Troopers?

Effectively evokes everything good about the military and effectively downplays everything bad.

/lit/ - literature

Fun.

I assume OP is talking about the book--which is as sincerely sentimental about the armed forces as the movie is satirical and subversive.

You're either really fucking stupid or really fucking baiting
>>7378321
He's probably both stupid and baiting but you didn't need to bump this thread.
>>7378321
He's not baiting, this is not literature.
More like Starship Poopers.

great comment !!
Here's my question--is Starship Troopers just a several hundred page long argument regarding the swinging lifestyle? Because that's more or less what Stranger in a Strange Land felt like to me.
Not that there's anything wrong with being a swinger.
An aside: do you think your friends that are "polyamorous" would still be poly if you told them they were just swingers?
Because being poly sounds a lot fucking hipper than being a swinger.

Oh, get over it. It was already at the top of the page, you little bitch.

Here in Cambridge/Somerville, polyamory is just what ugly hipsters who hate themselves call it when the handful of ugly weird chicks who will fuck them don't want to commit.
Swinging seems to imply older couples having a spot of fun with each other.
