What are some good horror books?
>>
Gravity's Rainbow

>inb4 skepticism
for real, it's terrifying and deals heavily with the supernatural
>>

Thank you, I'll definitely grab a copy.
>>
Salem's lot
At the mountains of madness
>>
Good ghost stories: MR James' Ghost Stories of an Antiquary

Good early non lovecraftian cosmic horror: The House on the Borderland by William Hope Hodgson
>>
>>7368106
>salem's lot
Good enough, but I agree with King that his best is Pet Semetary.

Brian Keene's work is good enough, just don't apply too much thought to it.

World History

<3

The Better Angels of Our Nature

Name a more violent / disturbing book
>>
>>7368217
That doesn't look like a very violent or disturbing book at all
>>
>>7368015
The man in the moss
>>
>>7368223
It's a recount of all the fucked up things that humans have done to each other. A women being burned alive at the stake, turning to jelly, twitching, screaming, trying to push away the burning embers with broken arms while a town watches kind of stuck with me. Oh and it's not fiction.

have to give pet cemetary a read
right now I'd say his best works are Salem's lot followed by the long walk.
>>
>>7368238
edgy
>>
Ira Levin's books. Trust me.
>>
Twilight

>>
>>7368597
you can't /thread yourself
>>
Jeff Vandermeer's Annihilation. The prose and characters aren't bad either.
