Lord of the Rings is such a shallow piece of shit. At least the others on that list have a semblance of depth. LotR is just an awful children's novel that equips them in no way for advanced literature.

This. When first reading it I was surprised how dumbed down the writing style is. Even pulp fantasy from Edgar Rice Burroughs has a more complex writing and he only wrote simple entertainment for the mouth-breathers.
