You should really try to read books that go over the technical theory and mechanisms behind economics instead of just reading ideological texts. And yeah, I understand that when you get down to it, all models have a philosophical root but there's actually more consensus among the majority of professional economists than amateur pundits would have you believe. In that vein, I'd suggest this textbook that I learned from when I was in undergrad. It does have a fair bit of math but it's really basic at the introductory level, just high school algebra. You should definitely do problem sets to understand how the theory works because hearing an explanation of Economics and doing the math yourself are two different things. Like mathematics, economics is not a spectator sport and you need to study and practice to really get it.
