Really beautiful and a great way to get into epics. It also blew my mind how much this book had in common with the Old Testament.
Underrated and not read by as many people as it should be.
What's the best translation? Is there even a difference in translations like the Iliad?

Absolutely. Many translations are actually just retellings that fill out the holes in the text. Andrew George's (Penguin, in the op pic) doesn't do that, it is very loyal to the original, also has excellent poetic rhythm (repetition, alliteration etc.) and additional texts - the introduction, the alternative versions of the tablets and the proto-Gilgamesh "Bilgames" poems. Everything one could ask for.
