Have you ever met someone who seemed to have read everything *worth* reading?
Is such a thing even possible?
>>10028048
ur just a brainlet
the more you read the more you reailze how much you still have to read
only brainlets think they can even come close to reading everything "worth" reading
>>10028048
I think most are lying or read the cliff notes version
>>10028058
I didn't think it was possible
I was just thinking about how someone like that would be
Reminder that you can only have enough time to really read 7000~ books in your lifetime. Better get reading anons.

literally read all of those except
>fbi dossiers
>>10028300
Well that's not the point is it? It's more the fact that there is always more to read, not those specific things.
>>10028296
What are the 7000 best books to read in your opinion?
>>10028048
Yeah the fucking guy at ABC books in Toronto. He's seen me evolve and likes where I'm heading. He's old at though.
I think the law of diminishing returns is relevant here. Although there are likely millions of books worth reading, there are only really a few thousand that are considered very important, and a few hundred that are the masterpieces and keystone works of a civilization. Everything beyond that is specialization or only minorly important.

>7,000
That's a ludicrously high number for /lit/. That's about two books a week for seventy years.
>>10028048
yes
every person whomst read the Bible
>>10028457
hella fucking epic
>>10028424
>reading books because they're "important" and not because they're enjoyable per se
>>10028434
Especially considering most books that interest me are 600+ pages and I'm not even close to being a speed reader.

Ulysses and Finnegans Wake count as 1000.
I have a close friend who reads a book a week at the very least once every two weeks. I still find conversations with him boring at times. The only thing I do notice is his growing vocabulary.
