Said this because the Essays are hit or miss. Some of the later stuff may even turn (you) off. The two volumes mentioned, however, will not.

I have ordered French Rev. also; i hope so im a fan of my historical lit so could be good for me. As well as that i have book that contains Sartor Resartus with Heros which is how i found Carlyle i really have two copies now. This book also came with Chartism and Past and Present if you got anythoughts on them.

Hmm, ive seen these warning before; warnings that he isnt suited for contempary thought. Im aware of these 'Essays' it will not push me away from Carlyle i believe. Any ones that you care to mention?
