I got diagnosed with GID at 17, and self med at 18 and through a psych letter got prescribed antiandrogen and estrodiol.

I stopped because I didn't know if I should do it or not, but the dysphoria was almost gone.

I kinda feel it was a risky decision but at least I know now. A few months back before going back on hormones I was self med'ing with natural blockers which was expensive, old symptoms and triggers returned(like avoiding reflections and feeling a disconnect between me and my body, trying to rid or hide my masculine features as much as possible) and I was denial that my dysphoria came back.

My psychologist was concerned about me committing suicide so I was admitted into a mental hospital. I was diagnosed there.

Till 18 before I self med and got an official script my dysphoria was really bad. Therapy only did so much.
I started to dress differently and wear makeup and it helped a little. Then I took blockers and it helped some more. By time I took the estrodiol it slowly went away. Finally after awhile it didn't bother me anymore.

I think it has to do with hormone levels desu, because when I younger I didn't have dysphoria as intense as when I entered pueberty. There was a thread here that explained it well.

Told a close family member today that the reason I can't eat is because of my gender dysphoria.
