What problems do homosexual relationships run into that don't happen in straight relationships?
>>
>>8802977
A near-zero rate of monogamy for gay men
Higher rates of domestic violence for gay women
Obviously these problems exist in hetero relationships but they are more common in homosexual relationships
>>
Gay communities are smaller than straight communities by nature, which means that you run into the same ~50 or so gay people everywhere you go. Gay communities are really incestuous as a result. There's a lot of tension around exes, fuckbuddies, and the like.

A lot of gay people go through either a whore phase or a hermit phase before settling into a serious relationship. The former whores come out emotionally distant and incapable of connecting sex with love. The former hermits come out socially retarded and as complete neophytes when it comes to how to be in a relationship.

In a gay relationship it's very likely that eventually one of the two parties will get bored and start asking for threesomes, an open relationship, etc.
>>
Straights don't have to worry about top/bottom compatibility unless they're kinky
>>
>>8802986
>gay men are unfaithful whores, like women
>lesbian women are violent animals, like men
Like pottery.

ANDROPHILIC AND GYNEPHILIC BRAINS

friendly reminder gay people literally have intersex brains, and that true gender is determined by gender identity AND sexual orientation.
>>
Well IDK about every gay person but for me I've experienced a special flavour of ForeverAlone sauce that only gay people who fall in love with a straight person experience

Same goes for parents restricting one seeing their partner (and misgendering them, sometimes. Hate that too!)

I think as a result of this, we tend to jump on board with the first person who shows us mild interest. This leads to a brief and intense honeymoon period before shit starts to hit the fan- the guy/girl/nb we fell for turns out to be a bi of a controlling cunt.

If we're lucky, we break up and swear off relationships until the cycle begins again or is broken. If not, we end up staying in unsatisfactory at best and abusive at worst relationships

I mean, there aren't MANY problems that heterosexuals don't face too, but they're like a special subcategory for gay peeps.

Prejudice and having to hide a relationship (which can strain it) is another problem. It's like Romeo and Prince Charming sometimes!

One partner may want to be out, the other might want to stay in the closet.

Supply & Demand of sandwiches in homosexual relationships are out of balance in relation to straight relationships.
>>
>>8803330
Well except Lesbians are way more violent than straight men. And gay men are just as slutty as the Chad that gets pussy every night, it's as if every gay men was a chad.
>>
>>8802977
Why am I having straight sex fantasies?
>>
>>8802977
Well the first problem is obvious, managing to KNOW if someone is gay is really hard, it's normal for people to have preferences over bodytype, personality and so on, it just so happens that by being gay you basically have to exclude a major section of your possible partners because they aren't gay or openly gay in the first place.

Because of this most gay people are single.

Also another problem is that not every guy in grindr is would be willing to have a homosexual relationship, many are just bi experimenting or simply don't want to deal with the pressures of society while still wanting the bp.
>>
>>8805175
Forbidden fruit syndrome. Either that or you just want to be a girl in a straight relationship and you're confusing the two.
>>
>>8805179
Idk I wouldnt second guess when going into a relationship with another girl. But I keep fantasizing about being in a straight relationship and have a strong handsome man fucking the gay out of me. I should stop watching HBO shows they got me into this mindset.

Always ready? Jesus Christ mate, shoving a hose up my ass once a week is too much work already, I don't need to do it every day.
What you actually want is a diet rich in fibers, well regulated bowels and a partner that isn't grossed out by a little stain on the condom.

daily reminder that the often-misinterpreted stats on how much DV lesbians have experienced show that most of that violence was experienced while in straight relationships, not lesbian ones

gays
>not easy to bottom spontaneously (workable if your sex drives sync up and you're happy with other stuff for most of the week, awkward if you both always want anal)
>imbalance in tops and bottoms in the dating pool
>top and bottom compatibility issues within relationships
>hookup and app culture makes it extremely easy for someone to cheat

lesbians
>two sets of periods. either they sync up and you have double PMS or they don't sync and you can't have sex for half the month
>dating apps are shit, barely any clubs, hard to hook up

both
>dating pool less than 5% of the size of what straights have, even less if you don't want to date bisexuals
>partner is probably a similar size to you and will steal your clothes
>your/their family might hate you, making it harder to get support with things like buying your first house
>harder to pick holiday destinations due to risk of violence against gay people in some countries
>issues getting your partner on your health insurance in some places
>>
>>8802977
Is that my cap you're wearing?

Yep. And those are my boxer briefs, bofrand.

The end. *bows and then basks in the comfort of knowing men are fucking awesome and can't unexpectedly trap you with children even in LTRs*

Literally me but I don't want to break his heart so I've kept my mouth shut.
I want to taste, smell, feel lots of different men. Will it ever happen for me, /lgbt/?

The numbers of domestic abuse victims say otherwise.

Every gay guy I've known always holds out for monogamy for that one mythical "right guy" that doesn't exist because everyone's holding out and in the meantime slutting it up.

I have a picture in my head of the guy I would become a nun for, but it's just that, a picture.

Ah yes, who can forget the ferocious lesbo archetype.

Lesbians have perpetrated most of the violence in history if you read between the lines. Straight men are comparatively little angels by comparison.

Only if they don't show what you want, right? What did you expect? That men were somehow more abused than women? You might even try to refute that men are the most sexually abusive to women, and to other men.
>>
>>8810085
Like 70% of non-reciprocal domestic violence is women beating on men. When it doesn't come from both sides it's usually women beating men. Of course they always forget to mention that most abusive relationships involves abuse from both partners.
>>
>>8810273
The skew is one of physiology.

Female abuse of male partners is taken less seriously by law enforcement because it's much more difficult for a relatively frail woman to beat the shit out of a big bulky man biologically built for violence

It's like if a child hits you, the cops aren't likely to care.
>>
>>8805828
good post that isn't a thinly veiled "I hate X"

I feel very lucky to have dodged most of these problems with my husband
>>
>>8810273
>70%
Pulled that statistic out of your ass.
>When it doesn't come from both sides it's usually women beating men
Again. Pulled out of your ass.
>they always forget to mention that most abusive relationships involves abuse from both partners.
This is the CDC. It's self-reporting. It's not about police reports or incarceration. It's about who in these groups said they were punched, shoved, or beaten over their lifetime by their romantic partner. You're only skeptical, going "hmm. she probably hit him at some point so they're both at fault, not just him." because you are so uncomfortable. Trying to read between the lines. But people were happy just to take the lesbian domestic abuse rate and run with it. Now that you actually look at who was doing the hitting - you have to pin it on both parties. Men are sick.
>>
>>8810287
>>8810273
Then why are homosexual males abused more than heterosexual males?
>>
>>8810330
Perhaps because there are fewer proscriptions against men beating up on men?

A man hitting a woman is seen as an act of immense cowardice, whereas if a gay guy gets thrashed by his bf it's because he's an inadequate male who cannot defend himself in the implicit judgement of society.
>>
>>8810348
I'm not going to jump to misandry but what is the reason men get ignored this way?
>>
>>8810273
Whether DV is "reciprocal" means jack shit about whether it was actually reciprocal abuse, you can bet if a guy started hitting me I'd lift my hand to defend myself, especially since abusive men have been known to literally beat their partners to death. Men are less likely to reciprocate if a woman hits first partly because they're socialised not to but also because they're less likely to genuinely feel threatened because they're usually at a physical advantage.
>>
>>8810376
meme, but "the patriarchy hurts men too". maintaining a system where women are seen as weaker and lesser and men are seen as needing to be strong and justified in using violence means that mean who fail to do that are seen as failures as men.
>>
>>8810376
Societal expectations of male gender norms. I wouldn't quite call it misandry because men themselves ascribe to these values.

It is tacitly expected that men be the primary arbiters of violence in society, able to dish it and receive it in equal measure.

Also nobody cares about gay men or when they get bashed so that too

Also publicity on homosexual domestic abuse doesn't jive with the rainbow spattered, sparkly upbeat everybody-hold-hands image the lgbt political movement pushes.

There are charities dealing with it that have always represented at pride marches but one of the most prominent went into administration because the CEO had been embezzling donations:
