How to signal to others I'm gay without it being annoying?
I don't tell it unless being asked and I feel like I'm missing opportunities
>>
>>8713347
To who?
Other gays? They probably know.
Straight people? Just slip it in when you get the chance eg 'Oh cool, my bf plays that game' or whatever.
Why do you need people to know you're gay?
>>
>>8713368
Only to other gays, expecially when I meet new people, no they don't because I often don't know either unless I ask them
>>
>>8713384
>Only to other gays
For what? To get laid?
If so, the best thing you can do is be yourself, be kind and be confident. Wanting to signify that you're gay sounds to me like you're considering putting on a voice or wearing a wrist band or some shit, which in itself is unattractive.
So, if gays don't know you're gay it'll be a pleasant surprise when you start hitting on them.

Other anon is being a wanker. Gay signalling is old as time and definitely part of queer culture. With that said, a lot of old signals has become part of mainstream fashion and thus modern day signalling becomes more explicit. I look at queer history, and use older associations. The pink triangle instead of the rainbow flag, for instance. Diva worship (if it lines up with your personal interests) by way of a t-shirt or pin. Clothes and accessories that reference queer artists, authors and musicians. Keith Haring comes to mind.
>>
I've thought about wearing a band around. But to be honest your best bet is to hang around gay spaces. Cos if you hang around gay spaces gay men aren't gonna be as scared to approach you. I have met some boys in places like that.
>>
wear the succubus (male) shirt

you can't signal correctly unless someone is cowering in your presence, symbols work best when associated with fear
>>
>>8713558
AHAHAHAHAHAHA WHAT IS THAT
>>
>>8713347
I wear that bracelet. Everyone still thinks I'm straight until it gets brought up.
>>
>>8713424
A bigger problem is that many gays do not signal at all. Unless they are a stereotype they are assumed straight.
>>
>>8713424
Why is wearing a wrist band unattractive?
>>
I wear fitted baseball caps. Basically only stealth gays wear those so it's basically cruising clothes
>>
>>8713558
please please make a gay chad gay virgin one

it screams ''I'm fucking desperate''
>>
>>8713347
They already know hon
>>
>>8713734
Why?
>>
>>8713424
i'd rather wear a wristband than hit on straight people
>>
>>8713833
This.
>>
>>8713821
you are flaunting your sexuality because you are desperate you don’t find a lot of gays and probably you want a bf or a gay friend, the only ones receptive to this are drama queens
>>
>>8713856
Sorry that not all of us live in gay population centers or are happy only meeting men on hook up apps and in clubs.
>>
if you're not comfortable with overt gnc behavior(painted nails is the easy one for guys) just give in and get a joke shirt that's completely unquestionable. something obvious like 'no hetero'. or get an undercut, slightly less effective but works for most people.
>>
>>8713833
>>8713855
before hitting on them you could ask if they are or not gay or maybe ask them if they had or have a girlfriend some gay men will say that they are gay and if they are gay but respond with in an ambiguous way probably think it’s way too personal so hitting on the would not work too, just act normal and let the it follow the normal course
>>
>>8713874
neither do I but I act like a normal person not trying to force things to happen
>>
>>8713881
I have done that but unless you are already friends or associated some how it just comes of as strange.
>>
>>8713890
How did you meet your boy friends?
Also, how old are you?

I'm a lezbean and sometimes wear a rainbow striped woven bracelet type thing. I'm not really sure if it is a huge beacon, but I'm also a pretty stereotypical flannel/shorthair dyke. If anything, when meeting people they always end up asking me some normies question about boyfriends, so I just come right out and say I'm more into girlfriends.
Straight people talk about sex and relationships more than any other subject but they always get kind of uncomfortable when you mention anything about your gayness. It's been a long time since I met a fellow lgbt since I live in a small town, but I'm hoping that by being open I can represent for all those poor closet cases.
>>
>>8713906
yes that's why I say let thing flow normally, don't force them
>>8713913
I had one boyfriend I meet in school and my best friend was gay in the closet but a flaming faggot, I0d just let things flow normally, now I’m single but not searching at all for a new bf or gay friends (I'm 18)
>>
>>8714137
>18
That's adorable. I'm 27, and my advice is to leave this place before you end up like me
>>
>>8714155
end how? cutting my dick? don't worry I love it
>>
>>8714178
I'm actually the afab from the Marceline post up thither. I meant more like, this whole website is just a toxic cesspool of unfiltered ideas, shitposts, and agressive stereotypes. It will warp your way of thinking and you get addicted when it's your only form of human interaction. You seem young and socially hopeful. Don't end up a bitter husk like me.
>>
>>8714225
don't worry for me I'm quite like you already being gay and conservative really marked my path, I find this place a little bit less awful than /pol/ at least it’s not a alt-cuck circle jerk full of straight interracial porn, circle jerks tend to be awful chambers of resonance but this place is so divided that you will find very different people
>>
>>8714280
That's true, things are pretty divided here for better or worse. It just made me really nostalgic to hear you were so young, I sometimes feel like I'm still 18 but that was nearly a decade ago now. Good luck in your life friend
>>
>>8714225
People like you remind me of people who drink filtered apple juice because the real stuff gives them the shits.

I've been here longer then you and endured harder then you. A community only influences your thinking if you let it. A personal failure of many on this site, you never delineate where the reality begins and the shitposting ends so you conflate the two in your head and it progressively influences your RL beliefs. All from an irrelevant Japanese culture shitpost site!

It's insanity, the sheer psychological impact that one little url in the address bar has on you. Is everyone like this now? Is this the Facebook generation in its fullest flower? Where people can't even separate what happens in binary from what happens in flesh, everything's just blurred into one morass where memes determine all?

I can't understand it. Is it worship of esotericism? Do you see this as the hidden font of sekret subkultural knowledge that all worthless kekistanis do? If so, you failed before you began.
>>
>>8714297
I wish you the same
>>
>>8714298
The tone of your post is angry but I genuinely don't know what you're trying to say. It's bad to avoid something that makes you sick? I'm sure you're a real oldfag and have seen some shit, but I don't really get it if you're trying to use that as a bragging point.
>>
>>8714137
I'm 28 and have not met a gay man outside of sites, apps or clubs since I graduated. If you can't meet in school, through friends or at work then all you have left is online, clubs and dumb luck.
>>
>>8714377
yes that's true the problem is that if you force thing to happen (like wearing some band) your luck is in favor of that some skins or niggers will see it and beat the shit out of you for being a faggot rather than attract gay men, most normal gay men don’t go flaunting their sexuality to everyone neither like the ones who do it
>>
>>8714400
I don't live in an area with a bunch of black people. The anti gay whites are so dumb and passive they are still waiting for mike pence to drag me away.

I have had no issues and I have been wearing it for months. But i am also a blocky, ugly masc man so I am not going to get approached. I am just trying to set an example that it is ok to signal others.I meet a lot of younger gays that are against online dating, apps and clubs and after they are out of school they bitch and moan about how they cant get a boyfriend. We cant meet like straights so stop trying. It does not work unless you live in a gay city.
>>
>>8714298
only fatties drink juice fatty
>>
>>8714454
do you truly believe that wearing some identifying patch or band or pin is a good idea? I doubt any gay man will approach you only because you wear it but you might attract another type of people, it’s not the most safe for us gays to wear such things, there are other activities where gay men are there other than clubs or date apps, maybe some book club or something where you could meet similar gay men
>>
>>8714508
I have joined all kinds of groups and try to learn about everyone. Either they are all closeted and pretend to be straight or not present. Gay men definitely will not approach you if they think you are straight.
>>
>>8714577
let's just face reality they will not approach you in the middle of the street because you are wearing a band or something you might attract other people but gays I'm sure not, the only thing we can do is join different clubs or groups and if we really want to know some gay men use apps
>>
>>8714591
I am not afraid of attract negative attention. Do you hide in your house all the time just because someone might want to fuck with you? When I was growing up if you were not the model chad you were beat.
>>
>>8714618
I just act normal as you said we are not straight people no gay is going to stop us in the middle of the street and ask us out
>>
>>8713881
asking someone if they're gay is hitting on them

have you ever gone somewhere that isn't school or sanfrancisco
>>
>>8714641
I have known younger gays that have been approached in public because of some kind of signaling. You do not get approached if you are masc as you are expected to make the first move.
>>
>>8714657
first of all I'm not american and second of all I do not live in a place full of gays, I don’t just ask randomly at people if they are gay or straight I try first to be friends with them and know them a little
>>
>>8714691
I don't think I'm masc at all but I have never heard of gays approaching other gays in the places I have lived maybe you live in an area with more gays than I
>>
>>8714695
Don't be surprised if that never works.
>>
>>8714706
If you don't live in some kind of theocracy then gay men may have passed you up because you did not signal them.
>>
>>8714717
I had a bf and I did not signal him in any way maybe I'm not masc so I do not have to wear bands to signal I wasn’t even searching for a bf or whatever it just happened
>>8714727
I do not but it's not like I'm searching constantly for them, I prefer to know people a little bit before opening to them about thing like my sexuality
>>
>>8714751
You were in school. A large collection of your age group and prime for socializing. As you get older that kind of environment becomes more and more rare.
>>
>>8714768
yes but there are gay groups and clubs or apps, I doubt wearing aa band would make gays stop you to ask you out
>>
>>8714786
Most gays under 36 use a 18-25 age filter. When you hit 26 you are no longer in the desirable group. almost all gay groups are for "young adults" I have been rejected by such groups for being too old.
>>
>>8714866
well that's sad to hear I'm open to date more ''mature'' people, maybe it just some gays do not want to but I’m pretty sure that most of us would date older people
>>
>>8714879
Even men my age reject me for being to old.
>>
>>8714921
search younger ones, I’m assuming you are a top, many young people have a like older men like daddies and such who usually are tops, but maybe you are a bottom so continue trying to find someone, surely you will find someone
>>
Gesture with your hands more than most males would. Look guys in the eyes and give them a smile.
>>
>>8714937
So far the only young guys have immediately asked me to spend money on them.
>>
I met a dude at a festival, he was so obviously gay that the rainbow neckband, wristband, shoes and chestpin were absolutely superfluous.

I ended up in his tent and I was gonna bone him, but someone took my shoes outside the tent and I ran after barefoot, caught up to him and got my shoes back. Went to wash my feet and when I got back to the tent he was asleep.

So I just went back to the party where I met him. Next day he found me through one of my friends and claimed I raped him. Everyone just went whatever.
>>
>>8713734
you sound like a fucking snob desu
>>
>>8715043
continue searching, I wish you luck
>>8715414
I might sound like a snob but I'm right, stay mad
>>
>>8713347
Wear a thong and sag your pants just enough that the top of the thong is visable
>>
>>8713347
I saw a very attractive, very cut, muscular guy on the train the other day. He had a short beard and wasn't dressed flamboyantly or anything...for reasons I can't explain I just assumed he was straight. I mean I'd only been looking at him for like a second, but you know, he just didn't look gay, I suppose. But then I noticed his fingernails, all painted lime green and with some decals on some of them. The contrast was surprising and alluring, and it serves as a signal. You may not want to paint your nails, but with a wristband or something could potentially produce the same effect.
>>
>>8713467
>discretely
My sexual orientation can also be explained in terms of rational numbers.
>>
Would these work?
>>
>>8717362
>straight
??? I'm not straight
>>
>>8713347

Well groomed eyebrows will be enough. It is not a total give away, but other gays will know there could be something.
>>
>>8713368
>my bf

I don't think he'd be asking about signaling if he had one of those.

Maybe just trying to be cute, it will not signal anything but it will draw some good attentions

I'm a bald, barrel chested man.
>>
>>8719672
Makes sense. When you approach a big dude you assume he is straight or you can loose your teeth.
>>
>>8719694
I want men to know I'm gay and available. The only obvious gays I have met have always been younger and committed.
It seems my only option is clubs.
>>
>>8719716
>clubs
Are you looking for a partner or a free STD?
>>
>>8719727
What do you suggest?

I'd advise you to view the 100 stikes to the groin, speed hitting and speed hitting 2 video demonstrations.
