It depends on how much genetics affect sexual orientation. If there is a strong genetic correlation irrespective of sociological factors then it would follow that yes there are more gay men than gay women. But that is also assuming the etiology of homosexuality is identical in men and women.

If the etiology of transexualism is the same in both sexes, and it is strongly correlated with genetic variations as opposed to sociological factors, then it would logically follow that you are going to see way more MTF than FTM.

Genetically women seem to huddle around the "average" with less deviation, whereas men have a much wider distribution. This pattern is observable with tons of different factors from mental illness, to IQ, to genetic disorders, etc.

With respect to evolutionary biology it makes sense, sticking with the tried and true will be selected for in the case of women because of their long term involvement in reproduction. Whereas for men, provided they fertilize a female, nothing else matters much, so there isn't as strong a selection for genetic stability.
