I used to get told I had a "radio voice" as a guy: my voice was the deepest of all my friends. People told me I had potential to pass, except for my voice.

I just did that one simple trick where you lean to control the muscles in your throat that move your Adams apple when you swallow. After a few months, I could talk decently. I now pass even on the phone.

I had VFS 1 week ago. Still waiting to recover completely, so I can't talk properly yet. Not at Yeson or anything. I went with thyroid elevation. Plus shaving of the adams apple.

The surgery went well and the wound seems to be healing very fast.

Posted this elsewhere, but here's my yeson, it's not always as bad but I decided on this recording as it shows how bad my voice quality can go, rather than showing the best scenario
This is a 5-5.5 month recording that was done on one of my worse days, to show how bad it can get. I was about 3 weeks on the clonzapam drug they give you in the recording.https://clyp.it/uek4sd0a

overall, there's not much of a pitch increase and it's very hoarse, kind of patty and selma like and can be quite hard to understand at its most hoarse.
the yeson voice exercises haven't done much (admittedly I've only done them
once or twice (usually twice) a day instead of the 3-5 times they recommend, working at McDonald's is horrible for keeping a consistent schedule for this stuff) and I'm looking for an actual voice coach to help improve it. I've seen an ENT today and everything's healed fine inside, except I still have the incomplete posterior closure which I've had before surgery, so maybe making my vocal chords smaller have made that worse, should be fixable with training though.

Already found a voice coach so I just need to get available dates and see how much she costs.

Yeson doesn't seem like the fool proof solution that it seemed like at the beginning, maybe for most people but there actually are risks that no one really thinks to mention.
