My parents were both abuse victims who were terrified of ever interacting with me and at the idea of hurting me through a lineage of abuse, so they let me do whatever I want genderwise. They were also into "gender neutral" upbringings and terrified of imparting any sort of "gender" onto me anyways. Even though they hurt me in many other ways, that was one good thing.

My mom let me choose for myself most of the time, but I also went with whatever fads other kids were into at the time. I liked anything that had to do with animals, dinosaurs, cowboys, and stuffed toys.
