If you're talking about my "gender OCD", that has to do with the fear of losing what I am to outside intrusions, not "convincing myself what I am".

I've had extreme OCD ever since I was 12, having it over "gender" is one of many things I've had it over - most of which involves the idea that outside forces are going to steal the elements that make me "me". For example, for a long time, I had extreme paranoia that objects had the innate ability to absorb your personality, creativity, sexuality, gender, etc and steal it from you.

So articulating to myself about myself and every attribute that differentiates myself from others is part of many, many rituals that I have/had have.
