You probably CAN be a model. I'm not even atteactive but I've gotten told by photographer acquaintances that I should start modeling just because I look exotic. Honestly it's more about hard work and perseverance than anything else once you reach a base line attractiveness. Or at least that's the impression I get from what they tell me. It's 90% passing out headshots and networking and only 10% actually modeling and being hot. Makeup and stylist and the photographer and photoshop people will make you look perfect anyway.

2. Their look. A unique, unusual look is considered "editorial" and is desirable for attracting attention to the clothing and creating a gut reaction. "Beautiful" types are considered "commercial" which is cheaper and less desirable.
