Honestly it has a lot to do with sexism. We have an extremely narrow idea of what a woman should be compared to what a man should be. A man can have broad or narrow shoulders, a woman must have narrow shoulders. People are way more shocked/fascinated by tall women than they are by short men. The solution is to just promote more body acceptance.

Also as a side note, ive realized that if you really look for a man, youll see a man. And thats what most people dp when they are asked if a trans woman passes.

First, this is bullshit.

Only people with really, really unfortunate genetics are totally beyond passing. Most girls in the passgen, for example, pass or will pass soon with a decent voice...you're far too critical of their features if you think otherwise.

Second, yeah, I think maybe some people don't know the signs yet. I used to work in a coffee shop, and I'm pretty sure I clocked several FtMs because I look WAY harder than most people when I see a guy who looks unusually feminine.

I also found out that I got clocked myself by someone who does make-up professionally. She asked my roommate, "He used to be a girl, right?" When my roommate asked how she could tell, she just said that the proportions of my face were wrong for a male - something you'd spot if you spent your entire job focused on the minute details of people's facial features.

This is actually my ideal aesthetic with time, but it's going to be a bitch to pull off.

For one thing, you really, really need height and broad shoulders to do it well and most of us don't have that. I'm just shy of 5'8" myself, which makes me relatively tall for an FtM, but I'm still a short guy. I also have narrow shoulders.

If I wore a double-breasted suit in particular, I'd look absolutely ridiculous. That's a type of suit you can only wear if you're a very tall. Short guys have to wear as few buttons as possible. Etc.

At this point in my life, there's no way I could afford the kind of top tailoring I'd need to actually look sharp in a suit and not like a little kid in my dad's closet. Tragically.
