i understand your points. Gatekeeping was still quite strong even for me though I started at 18 because even in 2010 my therapist took like a year to approve me for HRT and only because I was moving so she didn't want to make me feel it was a waste of time.

Then it took me half a year just to find a doctor. And the doctor I found isn't even competent he just follows the standards of care and doesn't really give a shit on how things work for me as an individual. One example was when he still wanted me to take spiro even after bottom surgery.

I guess my point is even though it's more lax now doctors and psychotherapists are still pretty incompetent when it comes to treating transsexualism because they were never taught it in school when they were getting their doctorate it's still a very new concept for practitioners to adopt. Younger doctors I hope will know more.

And this is all in california. I can't imagine other states when we have some southern states with all those bathroom laws now... and other states considering that atrocious law but i mean if you are in a progressive state like cali changing legal documents will circumvent that problem for me but since other states have different laws on changing birth certificates it just sucks for some people.

And on the opposite side of the political spectrum we have states like Oregon allowing licenses to have a queer gender marker now which is fucking bulshit but doesn't really matter if you change it for actual legitimate gender dysphoric reasons just concerning because it should only be male and female because that is how society is equipped to work.

There is a big difference between charging different amounts for driver's licenses, and having some states allow birth certificate changes even without surgery, and others not allowing changes at all. As long as there are workarounds There wouldn't be an issue.

Seriously though everything HRT brings is secondary. HRT is only going to smooth out the edges and isnt going to give you a whole new face that magically passes.

The only real difference you will clearly notice is the fat distribution of the body and give you nice hips and tits, provided you arent fat already.

There is truth to this. Due to early 90s gatekeeping I actually started HRT a month *after* full time transitioning. I don't know how I survived, but I had low enough test that I never even used blockers. Getting makeup/clothes/presentation right was critical.
I don't have many pictures because this was before digital cameras, but I do think HRT improved my face a lot. I started off on ethinyl estradiol. It isn't used now because of the risk of blood clots but it's extremely potent, apparently more than natural estradiol. After a couple years I went to patches.

Transhumanism is just about artificial evolution.
It would be highly unlikely for humans to evolve the capability to switch sexes so as of right now it's an artificial modification and transsexuals are transhuman because it transcends what evolution is capable of.

Well, it's true the HRT and surgeries are artificial modifications. I also know they trigger a lot of people. SRS in particular seems to set a lot of people off, even plenty of MtFs hate SRS, and FtM phalloplasty might be even worse. Tranny stuff is definitely pushing against a lot of people's limits.
If transhumanism really takes off I can see a lot of backlash developing against it. I'm skeptical I'll see much in my lifetime, but I'd be upset if there weren't a place for people who want to remain more or less standard human.
