Are there lesser known but competent SRS surgeons? Or are we doomed to wait over a year for big names like Suporn, Meltzer, Brassard, etc.?

Smaller surgeons aren't as well known because they don't have the experience and are still working up their peak skill. Be esry of surgeons with only a small amount of surgeries.

I know that, but obviously some are going to be better than others. Waiting years for important surgery is obscene, and if I can get a surgeon that gives decent results I'm happy.
Brassard got me in two months after I filed all the paperwork. I started filing in December of last year, finished filing in January, and they called me in February with a surgery date at the end of March.
Almost 4 months post op now. I recommend Brassard, 10/10, would lose dick again.

How come every Canadian I know bitches about Brassard having a huge wait time?

They're probably whining about the requirements of needing 1-2 years of hrt before srs that many provinces here have.

>tfw America insurance doesn't cover Brassard

Actually, they can cover Brassard if you file it properly. My insurance just requires that the appropriate authorizations and recommendations are set in place, you can basically pick who you want to as long as they are qualified.

Which insurance? Mine said I can pick my own if I get proper authorizations and stuff have my SRS approval letters. I wonder if that would work.

Blue Cross Blue Shield, Massachusetts if that helps.

Trying to get the provincial health authority to file the approval paperwork is a pain, even after the 1-year fulltime requirement.

Apparently 80+% of the people that Brassard works on are from the US usually. I can attest to that from the recovery home where I stayed at there.
