As a kid, I did cut myself. Where you can't see scars. Also, the nasal septum bleeds a lot more profusely than arms. purely construction labour was the strongest growing industry in employment rates in 2015 where I live (NZ). This is only going up in most places where housing is getting worse and worse. Manual labour is absolutely required right now, in fact not enough people already are doing it and similar tradework jobs (plumbers, electricians, etc). Because NZ is a very good metric for a strong first world economy with a solid backbone of manual labour jobs supporting it as every first world country needs right now. It is a relatively small portion but also an absolutely necessary and very under worked portion, so if you can and you've got little academic future, manual labour is a fantastic idea currently. Especially considering the cost to get yourself into the industry is so little, depending where exactly, you could find yourself earning quite a lot in a few years of moving up with only high school completed and no student debt.
