What is it ACTUALLY like to transition? I'm seeing a therapist in a couple weeks to discuss gender stuff and see if I should transition/how I should go about it. What can I expect after that initial meeting? I am kind of thinking of it as a catalyst, im certain I'm trans but I have no idea how my family, my closest friends, my brother (who is also my roomate) will react. I'm 18, I dont wanna be a hon so I dont wanna wait years and years. Basically what was your experience from the point after you saw a therapist/came out or really took any steps to start being a girl?

if you feel like they're stalling you and you're worried about getting more masculine, buy test blockers, 100mg spironolactone every 12 hours

Was self medding for 5 months when I went in. They asked my pronouns and I obviously picked opposite gender (female) ones which never got used anyway.
Psych asked me to tell her my story chronologically then asked a few questions about my relationship with people and how I feel. Normal stuff like 'do you have access to guns?' and 'do you hear voices speaking to specifically you on the radio?' to screen for psychos. Appointment was gonna take 1 hour and a half but she finished it at 40 mins and ran through the DSM-V with me and concluded I had gender dysphoria.
40 mins and got my diagnosis. 4 days later had my letter of referral to the endocrinologist. This is the kind of speed self-medding gets you.
How do you behave? Whats your fashion sense like? Do you like boys or girl? Are you happy in your body?
The moment you suspect they're a religious therapist, christian counsellor, or not a gender specialist you should just leave.
Protip: A good therapist wont tell you that you're trans. They just listen and guide you to lines of inquiry that help you find yourself before formally handing down a diagnostic when you understand and identify with the DSM-B criteria. You may want to self-med.
