Oh, please allow me! I love telling this myth -- it's my favorite. I'm honestly surprised the myth of Tu'er Shen is not more well known in the gay community. Really, he should be the patron saint for /gaygen/.

According to "What the Master Would Not Discuss" by Yuan Mei, which is a collection of myths and folktales from around China, Tu'er Shen is the God of Homosexuality, but he was not always a god. Once, he was a human by the name of Hu Tianbao, a soldier within the Fujian province of China. Hu had fallen in love with one of the provincial officer and confessed his feelings to him, but the officer was so disgusted by Hu that he had him executed. When Hu appeared before the Gods of Death, who in Chinese mythology judged all those who passed, he told them his story. So greatly were they moved by it that they even told the Yellow Emperor, King of the Gods, about it, who then had Hu retell it to him. Like the Gods of Death, the Yellow Emperor was moved by Hu's story and felt that a grave injustice had been dealt to him. So the Yellow Emperor deified Hu into a god.

A month later, Hu, now known as "Tu'er Shen," appeared before a man from his hometown and, like he did with the Gods of Death and the Yellow Emperor, told him his story and asked that he erect a temple in his honor, so that there may be a safe place free of discrimination and hatred. Since then, the worship of Tu'er Shen has been heavily targeted by the Communist government, who censor any images of him and have even destroyed some of his shrines. The last known temple of his is located in Yonghe District, Taiwan and regularly performs gay marriage ceremonies.

There is a pun with Tu'er Shen's name: it literally translates to "The Rabbit God" and in ancient China, rabbit was a slur for gay people. I hope you all enjoyed my retelling of Tu'er Shen's myth! May he bless you with many cute boys.

College/Uni is just the highest concentration hands down, there will never be a better opportunity.
