Unless you're actually legit ready to come out and you think people will be accepting. But the whole thing with the idea of coming out to get HRT to show you're serious is that they're completely forgetting that trans-acceptance really just isn't all that great.

There's no point in having HRT if you have nowhere to live and no job. If you're being blackmailed to get HRT then just self-med or see another therapist unless you are very sure you'll be alright coming out.

If the place where you live follows WPATH chances are coming out is only one step in the process anyway.
It usually requires coming out to your entire family and friends followed by 1 year of RLE (dressing as a woman) without hormones.

Coming out might not be a bad idea. Maybe just let one or two people know and see what they say. Eventually you'll have to do it unless you plan on cutting ties with them.
