here's a story for you all.
when i turned 19 i decided to transition. i didn't want to be 20 and male at the same time. felt too old. but i had a girlfriend at the time too, a girlfriend who i loved very much.
i had told her i was pretty sure i would transition someday, two years ago when we had started dating. she knew well in advance.
throughout our entire relationship she tried to distract me from the truth. when i told her i was going to start hormones and all that good stuff, she seemed willing to stay with me through it but i saw in her hesitance and knew from the way she tip toed around the topic with me that it was not something she was comfortable doing.
so i broke up with her. because my girlfriend liked dick and i couldn't give her what she wanted without making myself incredibly unhappy. she begged and pleaded and made me stay with her until she had met someone else.
two years later i'm (mostly) passing, we're still friends today, and we even live together. which is sorta weird but it's fine.
i guess my point is, my girlfriend and I were at a conflict of interest and although I loved her it was unfair to both of us to stay in such a parasitic relationship. she didn't want to take me shopping, or show me how to do [things]. she did everything in her power to manipulate me away from my truth.
