Psychiatrists generally don't prescribe HRT as far as I am aware. Generally, you go to an endocrinologist who specializes in trans health, and usually you need to get referred to one by a therapist or social worker, though depending on your age there are other options. You can ask your therapist, but you might need to seek out a more specific trans-friendly therapist. Do they know about your plans to transition?

Im an ftm, I chose a male name that was very similar to my birth name, it wasn't a big deal. (not it, but think, Alysha -> Al) If julia sticks out to you, that might be it.
You need to see an endocrinologist, best bet is to call the number on your insurance card and ask them for numbers, then call around to see who does that treatment, not all endos do HRT. If you already have a therapist/psychiatrist, they might be a good resource as well to ask.

Legally I think you need an endocrinologist that was recommended by a therapist (psychiatrist, psychologist, you get it).

So you need to talk to your doctor about it and get a letter of recommendation to an endo so you can work with both doctors.

I asked my mom what name she would call me if I was a girl, things kinda worked if you ignore the fact she doesn't like me a lot anymore but she still told me the name.

i wanted to add something I don't get to share alot, my parents expected me to be a boy, and the name I would have gotten went to my younger bro. Not the name I chose, or would have chosen but I always found that interesting
