How dangerous actually is MtF HRT? Are there any stats or figures out there that actually give any sort of indication? Every time I research it I just get vague answers like "the chance of developing breast cancer goes up" but no shit right?
Have any anons regretted taking HRT?
I know it's a bad idea in particular for me to take HRT cause breast cancer quickscoped my Mom but I'm having trouble gauging how big the risk actually is.
-Osteoporosis
-Cardiovascular disease
-Breast cancer % that isn't basically 0
+Prostate cancer
+Testicular cancer
It's kind of a wash. Biological females live longer then males but we don't have enough data to say whether or not the same is true for transgirls who've been on HRT for 50+ years.

Historical studies show that eunuchs live 14 years longer than normal men. That's an even bigger longevity boost than women have over men (5 year difference).
Conclusion: all sex hormones are bad for your health, especially testosterone.
The problem is that trans girls take unhealthy anti-androgens, which might reduce lifespan. Spironolactone is taxing on the kidneys and possibly carcinogenic, and cyproterone is taxing on the liver. So it's possible that getting an orchiectomy early enough, reducing the amount of time on AAs, extends life expectancy.

Makes sense when you consider that all farm animals and pets live longer when neutered. Why would humans be an exception?
>>8410158
Cyproterone in regular doses (12.5-25mg) is less taxing to the liver than alcohol.

You can eventually stop AAs once testicular atrophy becomes irreversible as well. There's also doctors that do informed consent orchi's

Dr. Arnkoff in detroit does them informed consent, but not everyone is in the position to pay up $3000 right now

nope if you don't have balls you don't made testosterone

make*

You know that cis females produce t, right?
>>8410212
Adrenal glands in both sexes produce a small amount of testosterone, which is why there's a female reference range for t at all.

it comes from their ovaries

there's a website you might find useful
http://transcience-project DOT org/hormones.html

You shouldn't ever go below female range of t. It causes a lot of negative health effects. If you have an orchi whatever T is there should be left alone.

Thanks! More positive than I had expected desu.

There aren't many side effects to be honest if you're sensible. Most of the problems come from anti-androgens and you just have to do blood tests while you're on those and then when you do SRS or orchi you can stop taking them. Estrogen can cause cardiovascular problems but if avoid smoking and stay fit you should be fine.

If I have no intention of getting castrated will I have to take anti-androgens permanently?
>>8410603
Unless you plan on detransitioning, yes.
>>8410603
Why not cut your balls off eventually if you plan on transitioning?
>>8410603
Yes and you will reduce your life expectancy by a lot if you do that. Just replace your girl tinkler with a real vagina.
>>8410706
Ehh SRS is overrated I wish i could get a real vagina but I can't
>>8410603
Theoretically, long-term cyproterone use causes irreversible Leydig cell damage, meaning you could stop taking it after a while, but there aren't really any numbers on that.
Is this the /HRTgen/?

What makes it castration? Why do you want balls. wtf is happening in this thread.
