Here's a pro-tip. If you need major work done, don't get full FFS. Never get full FFS. There's a reason so many post-FFS trans-women have such an "ayyy" look, and it's because doing like 7 cosmetic procedures all at once is never a good idea. Even the slightest change to a single feature of the face can have a profound effect on its balance with the rest of your face's features. It's impossible for even the best surgeon to get everything to be in complete harmony if they change every facial feature at once.

Also, most FFS surgeons aren't really that great at cosmetic procedures in general. What they are good at is their specialty, which is forehead feminization and chin/jaw work. Get that stuff with an FFS surgeon. Nothing else. Get the rest of your FFS procedures done one at a time. Find a doctor that's really good at lip lifts. Find a doctor that's really good at nosejobs. Etc. It's more expensive and takes longer but you'll get better results than cutting your entire face apart all at once.

On a side note, both Spiegel and Deschamps are overpriced, and you can get the same quality of work with a much cheaper surgeon.

It's not necessarily Deschamps' fault. Surgeons are limited by their canvas. FFS cannot make everyone pass. People with very male facial dimensions starting off can only go so far. FFS feminizes individual facial features. but it's the distances and proportions of these features to one another that matter. Skullchan is right.

If you have a small-ish head and don't have a long midface, FFS can do a lot for you.

Also, she couldn't have known that for sure that her surgeon would fuck it up. Based on her starting position, she had every reason to think she'd make an attractive female. Unfortunately, Deschamps clearly subscribes to the 'focus on the skull, make the jaw as narrow as possible, and fuck everything else' school of thought. MtF are unlikely to ever have a great result in terms of skull/dimensions, so a good surgeon offsets that by enhancing features. She needed a lip lift/philtrum reduction, lower and more anterior cheek enhancement, way less jaw tapering, and lateral canthopexy. She also needs a wig until her own hair is longer.

Yes you can contact them to see if your insurance covers. Note that at the most it will only cover half of the cost of the surgery and you would have to ask to be reimbursed by your insurance company for the other half . Also he doesnt take very many insurances as far as I know.

A maxillofacial surgeon, provided they have any wiggle room to work with. Some people just can't have their faces shortened (thereby increasing the width-height ratio) without causing catastrophic functional impairment. If maxfac isn't an option, then you need to see a surgeon that's good with custom implants and get your cheeks enhanced (telling them to maximise lateral projection) and possibly your jaw depending on your overall face length (if you have a long face, jaw implants aren't really an option). Also, temple implants/fillers if that's an issue. Obviously this needs to be combined with HRT to make sure fat is redistributed over the implants to further exaggerate roundness.

If you already have a shorter face (typically a 'square' male face) then the approach will be different, but it's already unlikely you'll end up like an ayy lmao. There are loads of attractive females with long faces, but most surgeons fuck up the transition from male with long face to female with long face (if maxfac isn't an option), since it requires conservatism, attention to detail, and a more intricate appreciation of aesthetics beyond the traditional schools of thought which try to move everyone toward the most mathematically attractive model of their gender, rather than toward an attractive example of someone with a similar craniofacial foundation.

whether you pass or not
if you work/make decent money
how bad your face is/what surgerys you want done
how old you are

its hard because you only have so long to be pretty and youthfull, but you would rather go to a doctor that will do a better job with the face you will have for the rest of your life.

Yeah it's pretty shitty it's like do I want to risk looking worse for a chance to look pretty while I'm young or do I want to look pretty when I'm in my late 20's when it doesn't matter as much.

cosmetic surgery #1 went to a rhinoplasty specialist for my nose job. he could not believe that i am trans. got a lovely nose from someone who mostly does nose jobs for cis females. nobody even knows that i got it. glad i did this so as to get not get a tranny markup.
#2 jaw reduction from a general plastic surgeon who dabbles in tranny surgery, i.e. he has a tab on his web site, he did not do much, somewhat of a waste of money
#3 adams apple reduction at the same time as srs, good because he knows how to deal with scars
#4 brow reduction from harrison lee, he is confident and seemed to only be interested in the trans thing insomuch as it technically affects his work. i am happy with his work

i had a chance to get brow+jaw surgery from spiegel when i was a lot younger, and i wish that I had done that. however his quote included a number of other things in "the works" surgery. it was overwhelmed me and turned me off about the whole thing, so i passed him up at the time.

It's stupid to think that being pretty doesn't matter as much as in your late 20's. I don't know if it's because people on lgbt genuinely don't get out much now that they're older, and remember seeing what 30 and 40 year olds were like when they were kids in the 90s, but your typical 30 year old looks like what your typical 20 year old used to look like. Everyone looks younger for longer now, and 50 is genuinely the new 30. In your late 20s, you can get away with acting exactly the same as in your early 20s, so being pretty is just as fun then.
