Im not going to pretend modern anime isn't a steaming pile of garbage and that there are only a handful of worthwhile movies and like... two, maybe three shows I can recommend in good conscience. But that doesn't make anime a bad medium. It's a great medium. It's just also really good at mass appeal and selling merchandise.
