It's tumblr, they invent new words for shit all the time. And the term is stupid, but it's not just a regular level of friendship being referred to, it's those friends that are really, really close, like on the level of a married couple.

You see these words are just futile attempts to deny their own white upperclass neurotypical cishet identity, aka everything they deem wrong and oppressive.

Tumblr teens really doesn't care that much about the value of friendship. They think, somehow, if your most important people in life are friends, then it doesn't count. They have to place people in special boxes

I'll give it a whirl.

It's like best friends who cuddle and kiss (this may vary but qpp usually implies a degree of intimacy above what you'd find in a normal friendship) but aren't "dating." (they usually are, even if they dont call it that). Typically there is no sexual component to the relationship.

I was kind-of in one of these without the label for a few months and it was honestly great.

Point is that tumblr has become so famous for its sjw cancer that "tumblr user" has become some sort of blank slate archetype sjw.

there's also a hilarious overlap between people who define their relationships like this and people who take offense to the ~Q Slur~ as an affected minority and therefore don't actually want to use it. the logic is lost on me
