Should older transitioners be forced to take anti-psychotics instead? I can't see how someone can be trans if they spent 20+ years living and never went on HRT.

It's good that /tttt/ discourages masc people from transitioning, but clearly more needs to be done. Hons just make the whole transgender community look bad.

Can you buy me a gun instead I kind of just want to be dead and if I killed myself I wouldn't become a hon and make the community look bad

Go away Cara.

Don't you think people should be allowed to kill themselves if they really want to die and don't want to become a hon? I wish there was an easy way to kill yourself other than a gun.

I fucking wish this trans awareness meme was active when I was a teenager. All we had were the odd television documentary about some Susan-hon and crossdressers.
If you're a teenager reading this, acknowledge you hit the fucking jackpot in times to be born.

23 year old who started at 19 here. It's the same story with me. I rember the moment I realized normal people could transition and turn out really cute after finding a bunch of really successful trans timelines online. I started self medding that year.
>>
>>8217089
Plenty of people will keep not thinking they are trans.

I grew up in a white middle class suburb, around the time I was in high school it started being more of a talked about thing and sex ed showed us this video, telling us we should feel sorry for mentally ill people:

The school system made no mention of it. I hadn't met any transgender people. My family doctor stonewalled me, insisting she'd refer me to someone--she never did. All the shrinks I called wouldn't even talk to me. But the folks at the Eunuch Archive hooked me up with info on surgeons and meds. In the end I had to do everything myself, and cope alone.

How can professionals get away with this?
>>
>>8218019
You probably could come up with some sort of lawsuit since they're technically withholding medical treatment from you. But it would be quite a bit of work and money, and might not get you anything.

I didn't even know being transgender was a thing until I was 18 in 2011. Then it took me a few years to accept it.

The community can't look bad, the OP is a transphobe who thinks they can aesthetically police trans bodies. They're the lowest kind of Nazi totalitarian scum.

How so? And how do you define a hon? What if someone passed and were feminine in personality even at a later age?
>>
>>8220021
Kek how could they miss it?

I actually knew being a transsexual was a thing when I was around 11 in 1996. I think I saw it on TV. So once I started fapping to porn I wanted to get a sex change and be a lesbian. I didn't dare tell my parents of course. AGP kids are secretive little bastards.

1983, transitioned at 31
Got really lucky and pass.

I think people just need to be self-aware, and it's a rarity with late transitioners.

I was fully prepared to live the andro life once I found out about HRT. I assumed I fucked up and was out of time.

Now I just get to think about how much better it would've been if I knew 10 years ago.

Still totally worth it

Im an old fag like you born in 84, but I never transitioned. I was about to like two years ago but I got scared and chose repression. How have you found life on HRT?

Sounds like you had the same issue as me being severely repressed until one day your not.

I'd self aware enough to know how unpassable I am. So I'd have to be boymode for life and boymode on HRT might not be worth it. T has some huge benefits.
>>
>>8216997
I was born in 2000 but where I live there was no trannie awareness meme so I repressed and now I'm already too masc to even consider stopping with the repression.
>>
>>8226751
You're 17 what the fuck? You would have to have gotten really unlucky to be too masc at that age.
>>
>>8226755
Male puberty hits early and hard, 17 is completely reasonable to have been turned masculineized by then. I'm not that poster but I have pics of me at 16 with a very angular face and broad shoulders.

>I can't see how someone can be trans if they spent 20+ years living

You don't understand what trans is.
Trans is having female brain structures and male body structures, due to hormonal fluctuations during fetal development.
Of course transmen have the opposite.
HRT is an attempt to make the body match the brain but the person is still trans even if they aren't able to try to remedy the situation.
If you were born with 2 noses you could try to have one surgically removed, but if you didn't you would still have 2 noses.

>>
>>8216875
>Should transitioners be forced to take anti-psychotics?
Yes.
>>
Is 19 too late to start? I'm already on anti psychotics and the dysphoria is still there. These drugs are awful, I feel like they're sedating me and killing my sex drive to see if it calms me down.
>>
>>8227082
my nigga i started when i was 24
>>
>>8227109
how'd it work out?
how tall are you?
i started HRT 6 months ago at 24 and feel a lot better, but don't think I'll ever pass :/
>>
>>8226925
Why match the body to the brain when it could be easier to just match the brain to the body?
>>
>>8227082
>I feel like they're sedating me and killing my sex drive to see if it calms me down.

that is exactly what they are doing.
anti-psychotics work on the principle that your adrenal glands are over-excited so they block dopamine receptors and depress the entire adrenal system.
they do nothing for dysphoria, which is a separate issue.
>>
>>8227124
I mean I started about 6 months ago too. I feel so much better but yeah I don't know if I will ever pass given I haven't put a lot of effort in to it yet and I'm 5'10.
>>
>>8226761

>Male puberty hits early

>says this in a world where girls can start puberty at 9

The barrier for being an early transitioner is so much stricter for FtMs than MtFs. If you make it to 14 without starting puberty blockers as an FtM, you'll be a manlet for life unless you're extremely tall for a woman. Whereas most MtFs at 14 years of age won't have had their voices drop. Of course, if you start at 14, you'll be a little taller than you would have been as a cis girl, but still short of male height.
>>
>>8225520
As far as repression goes, I had all the "trans feels" since I was a kid, but grew up in a very conservative area where manning the fuck up was pushed...

Researching my feelings only brought up unpassing hons and I was quick to say nope, and then back to repression/depression.

I just happened to see HRT timelines one day and I was like... oh shit, you can do that!?!

Having sense in my age I never expected to pass, so I set out to just stop my dysphoria.

HRT and boymode was my plan. Baby steps like laser and rhinoplasty just to feel ok with myself.

One day started to male fail. Soon started getting guys attention. Realized I could fully transition and have a normal life.

Being a late transitioner is circumstantial. Being a hon is because you have no sense.
>>
>>8227235
A FTM have it much easier because he would only be a manlet, whereas a MTF would look hypermasc and basically like a dude in a dress. T is more difficult to change than E, unfortunately.
>>
>>8227366
How do you fix a giant jaw and a deep voice?
>>
>>8227373
Practicing your voice can't be stressed enough. There is also surgery, but you still have to practice even with that.

Jaw issues are a FFS thing. Start saving now if it bothers you.
>>
>>8227427
I've seen some pretty fucked up results with FFS and with the voice thing:

1. Does practice really do that much?

2.I've heard that surgery leaves you sounding like Mickey Mouse.
>>
>>8227131
It's not, or there'd be a solution there already.
>>
The world is full of so many ugly people, you neurotic transexuals I wouldn't worry about adding more to the mix. So many people are already ugly, they'll all fit in just fine.
>>
>>8227583
Most trans women don't actually practice their voices. I had a traumatic experience that made me practice my voice, and actually LISTEN to my voice so I could tell I was at a good place, every day for months. It does make a huge difference, and even certain earlier transitioners have "fag voices" compared to me now. It's weird, and I think part of the reason I pass despite how I look. If you sound trucis, then people will overlook a lot of flaws.
>>
>>8227671
If I ever decide to stop repressing I'll have to look into practicing my voice then.
>>
>>8227235
Fortunately the window of testosterone working is a lot longer than estrogen fpr mtfs.
You might end up short, but passable. Most mtfs end up tall and way too manly.
>>
>>8227700
What are the windows for each?
>>
>>8216997
1994
>>
>>8227700
And that's one of the many reasons I hate T.
>>
>>8227591
But there is, I am not talking about pills though. I am talking about accepting yourself.
>>
>>8228461
