What does /lgbt/ listen to? What are you currently listening to if any? (genres, bands) Feel free to post songs/vids to share and expose one another to new things possibly!
For me, most everything from softer to grind, but my primary interests are industrial, metal, noise and no wave. I also like breakcore and hard dance. Faves include the Prodigy, Maruosa, Foetus, pig, NIN, GG Allin, Death in June, NON, Atari Teenage Riot, Pantera, Rammstein, Godflesh, Hocico, Swans (80s), dalek, death grips etc....
Hipster black metal like Happy Days (mixture of black metal and indie rock) is my latest crush. I also love witch house, alternative rock and screamo
>>8194105
Metal, generally industrial, power, and folk metal.
There's also classic rock and metal mixed in, like the OP pic. Priest are fucking legendary.
Ambient, Jazz, Soul
>>8194173
Halfords the man, Priest is where it's at, but I also liked his project '2wo' (had a NIN influence)
>tdw a guy who listens to shit like heavy, power and glam metal is trying to hit on you

Noise rock and shoegaze makes up a good portion of my musical taste, I also listen to a good bit of krautrock, black metal, some jazz, and post-punk. I don't restrain myself to these genres, they're just generally my favorites.
>>8194196
Funny, I don't talk to people who can't handle metal.
As the saying goes, 'if you're not into metal, you are not my friend'.
That extends to people who only like black metal, though. It's not really metal.

Found out my favourite Heathen Folk artist produced an album in November that I hadn't heard, so I instantly bought it yesterday. I listen mostly to Viking Metal, Heathen Folk, Neofolk, anything calling to paganism and stuff like that, really. I also like Ayreon, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Muse.

>>8196638
OP again, I like me some video game music too. Some of the old nes/Sega/c64 games had some heavy stuff and catchy as fucc. Skitchin (Sega) had some thrash/groove type of stuff, and then konami had all sorts of good nes music. Crude Buster had industrial
currently listening to foster the people... the blokes that did pumped up kicks? just dropped three new songs, pretty funky. my favourite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAW37LSCkQg

The Grey Race is also really good.
Any recs for edm stuff with female vocals?
I listen to a lot of different stuff.
Lately I mostly listen to acoustic pop like Nicole Dollanganger (I can't stop listening to her stuff) and Gregory and the Hawk. Also some folk/folk metal.
At this moment I'm listening to the album "Evocation I - The Arcane Dominion" by Eluveitie.
>>8194171
>Hipster black metal like Happy Days

I'm not laughing. That means they've failed at being funny.
>>8194105
I'm really into female fronted symphonic and power metal. Examples include Xandria, Epica, Nightwish, battle beast, Krypteria. If I want something a little harder I usually go to Sabaton or Powerwolf. If I really want to feel emotions and tear up I'll listen to some Sonata Arctica. I'll pretty much listen to anything depending on my mood though.
The only music I really dislike is anything that is made up of incoherent screaming or rapping.

Jesus wasn't tied to the cross by nine inch nails, tho.
In fact, traditionally, people were TIED to the cross, and tied UPSIDE DOWN.
Jesus was, allegedly, nailed, and with his head upwards, because they wanted him to die more slowly.
However, none of the gospels actually specifically report that Jesus was NAILED to the thing.
People just assumed it for generations because in the gospel of John's it was reported that when Jesus came back from the dead, he had wounds in his hands, that's what started this rumor essentially.
As for NIN, Trent officially said that the band's name has no religious undertones or religious ties of any kind.
He literally just picked it because it sounded cool.
Here's the direct quote from an interview:
>I don't know if you've ever tried to think of band names, but usually you think you have a great one and you look at it the next day and it's stupid. I had about 200 of those.
>Nine Inch Nails lasted the two week test, looked great in print, and could be abbreviated easily. It really doesn't have any literal meaning. It seemed kind of frightening. Tough and manly!
>It's a curse trying to come up with band names.
I mean i understand you're just making a joke but as an absolute NIN sperg i just had to butt in and blogpost like a fag.
>>8204011
I heard as well that he allegedly said he was inspired by an interview with Al Jourgensen of Ministry where he apparently compared his bands sound to having a 9 inch nail hammered into your head like a hole. Not sure if legit though he did have a fascination with Al back then as well as Ogre (skinny puppy)
Found a cool one today, not a regular listener of either artist involved but has kind of a cybergrind/inhuman edge to it https://youtu.be/vvy0zl3BAwc
>>8204011
>Tough and manly!
>>8202761
I get the joke dammit but it isn't funny to begin with which only makes it lamer when it's the same joke OVER AND OVER. And the music sucks. I mean Spinal Tap actually made it funny AND it was decent music.
Gloryhammer is a great parody band. Funny for real and AWESOME music you can enjoy once the novelty of the joke wears off.

Trent was sorta obsessed with being seen as tough or at least dangerous by his fans and people in general.
He was born petite and with sort of a femme body.
He probably fucked/got fucked a number of dudes, with the most likely realistic candidates being Manson, and Bowie (who he worshipped, saw as one of his most important musical inspirations, and even a surrogate father figure).
Hated himself/his body and did drugs constantly.
Then he got old, got clean, started pumping iron and became T-Rex the cunt destroyer, got a gf, and now he's even a dad, he's got like 4 kids.
His entire life is so /lgbt/ material it's not even funny.
