you dont chose your identity
If you're a man who loves men, you're a FAG!
What do you mean? I could choose to become a Christian, surely that would be part of my identity? I could choose to go to college and be a doctor. I could choose to be a vegetarian, etc. What a retarded statement.

That's not true.
People seeing you go to church, praying, donating, etc is what makes you a christian. Going to college, getting an accredited degree, and practicing medicine in a hospital or clinic is what makes you a doctor. Not eating meat is what makes you a vegetarian.
If you don't go to church, don't have a doctorate and work in a hospital, and eat meat, you aren't a christian vegetarian doctor.
Likewise if you have a beard, DL 400 pounds, work construction, and have a wife and kids, you can't say "I'm a woman" and expect people to treat you as such.

>If I do thing then I am thing
>That's not true. If you don't do thing then you are not thing
How do illiterate people learn how to write?

If I make you a sandwich, are we good?

But it is the actions associated with those identities that confirm it, not claiming the identity.

k.
The person you initially replied to never said otherwise though, so I'm not sure why you felt the need to make an argument against a view they never actually expressed.
It's an anonymous message board.
If you're really itching to have that argument and make that point then why not just samefag and pretend to be someone that actually makes the claim you disagree with so you can at least make a coherent case.
