We're probably not going to be able to make eggs and sperm directly from our own DNA with all these christfags in charge, so its only for people who had the foresight to store sperm/eggs.

I don't think we're going to get the real thing until we get much more flexible with chemical engineering in the cellular context.

If we're talking about actual physical possibility or impossibility, it's just a very difficult chemistry problem.
