why didn't you just use the ones your parents planned to give you when you were born?
>>

Oh fug I forgot,

this is supposed to be a recommend name thread

this should do the trick

>>
Tanya is a really pretty name desu
>>
>>8099576
ngl but it looks kinda ugly

and it's obscure as well, but at the same time it seems like a real name so I doubt it'll raise eyebrows

>>8099592
hmmm it's kinda nice yeah, but it's way to similar to my moms name.
>>
>>8099556
What's your male name?
>>
>>8099556
Don't do Rachel, it is shit. I want a new one too.
>>
>>8099556
>it's literally tranny: the name
I don't see it that commonly among trans people though? Literally the only people who say it's a tranny name is 4chan.

Regardless, maybe ask your parents what they would've named you if you were female?
>>
>>8099631
What if your parents know your a faggot and they won't tell you out of spite?
>>
June

>>8099566
Because they gave it to my little sister.

>>
>>8099631
I would senpai, but the closest chance I had to that was when I went to gender therapy for the first time and the therapist asked me I had a female name, my mom stood up in anger and dragged me out of there acting as if they've just attack me

My dad would probably tell me, but he's kind of depressed at the moment and I don't think he needs to think about how much a faggot his son/daughter turned out to be.
>>
>>8099556
Alice.
>>
>>8099644

Saved me a lot of headache.
>>
>>8099644
Then maybe just choose a common name around your birth year that you like.
>>
>>8099619
ughhh, I'm not sure if I'll take it, it feels kinda ratty, but Rachel's probably the best recommendation so far.
>>
>>8099660
Why was your mom with you during therapy?
>>
>>8099669
I don't fucking know why, I live in the U fag of K and for some reason she just kind of walked in there with me and no questions were ever asked.

However they did say my second appointment would be a solo one. Perhaps that's why mom decided to drag me out of there.

That's precisely what it is. A 4chan exclusive meme. Nothing wrong with it imo. Even know several cis Alices irl.

I'm ftm however, and not sure about a name. I'm not sure if I'm going to live in this country for much longer though, and want something easier to say worldwide.

That's what I thought. Do you know how easy it would be to get that granted by a judge? How do you think it would modify the process in NJ? I wrote it here >>8095396. I was thinking about contacting a transgender lawyer here, to get a better idea of what I can do, but that costs money of course. I think the only thing I found about sealing name change records here in NJ is for protection of domestic abuse victims and maybe witnesses, which makes me think maybe it isn't done for other reasons.

Here is what you do for a name, since you're all being idiots about it. Ask your parents what name they would have given you, had you been born with the other kind of reproductive system. Take that name when you transition.

It's appropiate for when you were born.
It's not anymore cringey than the name you used to have.
And as a bonus, it gives you extra points with your parents when you transition because they obviously like that name for their child.
>>
>>8106815

THIS.

Names aren't just a combination of sounds, they have meanings. If you want a new name that's going to fit you, you're probably going to need to choose something that's etymologically equivalent to the one you have. You've been called your original one for about two decades, it's worn in, something referencing entirely different attributes is going to feel artificial for at least the next ten years, if not the rest of your life.

I love Olivia, not a name fitting me, but if I ever get a daughter that name will be a strong contender.

I always named myself Rebecca since when I was 8. Then I liked Revy, it was just a coincidence.

I'm really attached to Celestine. Is that a name people will groan at?

But my little sister stole it. What do I do then?

I'd say you're more at risk if you pick a unisex name, unless it's a 99% female unisex name like Ashley or something. If you barely pass and go by Sam or Alex, you're going to be getting clocked far more often than someone would for having a snowflake name. And it's not like snowflake names are that uncommon even with cis people anyways. According to the Social Security website, the top 1000 names only account for 65-70% of girl names in a given year. Snowflake names are surprisingly common, and unless you pick something really out there like Candy or a name that isn't right for your culture/ethnicity you won't have a problem. "Old lady name" is the most retarded meme in these threads. Plenty of people get named after their grandparents anyways.

>unless it's a 99% female unisex name like Ashley
Got really confused about this once when a guy was named it, but most likely wasn't trans.
>>
Why is it that trannies usually name themselves a combination of sounds that is not a name. A lot like how black people name their kids.
>>
>>8109112
Yes. Thats not a fucking name. I swear to God we need a list of approved names like fuckin North Korea.
>>
>>8109573
Celestine actually is a name, though. A very rare one, but it's a real name people have had throughout history.

Old male viking name, so unless you're a scandi FtM, no.

In the christian era, mine means "pure", but that was likely changed from "two", "twin," "torture", or "Hecate". Kind of funny that I chose it before knowing I'm a human/human chimera, or in other words my own twin. I also like combining the old and new for "pure torture" or "pure Hecate". My life has been near pure torture. The other fun bit is I seam to have inherited my grandpa's ability to sense other's pain and emotions, and a few times people who I don't know have accused me of being a weather witch. Hecate is the Greek goddess of witches, magic, and sorcery.

It's pretty funny how it's like the most popular transwoman name, considering it's like made to be the first thing to come across your mind. You'd have to be both lazy and unoriginal to pick Alice.
>>
>>8112464
What are some alternatives, then? What should I do if I've already been using it, but haven't legally changed to it yet?

I've seen almost no trans women with the name though. Is it really as common as /tttt/ says?
>>
>>8112497
yes
it is
there's a reason the meme exists
it's probably fine though, it's not like ONLY trannies choose alice
>>
>>8112497
Just use alice, who cares what others think
>>
>>8112515
That's the thing. I've met a lot of Alices irl, all of whom (afaik) are cis. Is the reason it's frowned on because it's clockable or just unoriginal? Should I change it?
>>
Well,my name is Sara,I think its not that bad, what do you think?
>>
>>8099576
german here. The people I associate with that name are 80year old grandmas or people from some old fairy tale.
>>
>>8112531
But if it's a clockable name, I'd rather not use it, especially if the meme spreads and normies get wind of it.
>>
>>8112436
It's not really a clockable name and normies won't get wind of it you loser

I'm OP and I'm a special snowflake fagg who wants to just wants to feel special on the internet. Alice is a very nice name
>>
Any good names starting with "S"?

It might be clockable, but mostly people just want you to think a bit harder.

No, S is unoriginal normie shit.

If I met someone called Spencer I would laugh at them if they were manly in the slightest

If Melvin sounds like the name a young, aspiring wizard would have

Spencer sounds like the name a young aspiring engineer would have

It sounds so nerdy

kinda cute though maybe.

Eva, Natália, Fernanda or Maya for someone from portugal?

Is Emily a better name? Honestly, i just want as simple and normal a name as possible
>>
Shit this got long but im thinking between a few of names, just tell me which are the worst of the bunch and ill knock them out.

Im mostly between Jack, Freeman, Leon, or Thomas.

Not really a big fan of clyde, since it Freeman is what my parents would have named me and a family name, but it makes my initials literally ftm. Thomas and Jack are both family names, and Leon is close in sound to my old name.

There really isnt a male equivalent to my old name, which is a downer because its a really old family name. I mean, Clyde is technically close, but that reminds me of Chlamydia too much.

This has been a fun site for looking up names.

It would be weird to go from having a middle name to not. It's weird enough when somebody doesn't have one at all.

>>8112913
>Freeman
That is not a forename, trash it. The others are fine. Clyde is a little unusual but has a strong sound to it that it pretty good.
