"Repression" is something I don't quite understand but maybe I won't get it since I was a fruit before transitioning

That being said my mother believes I'm transitioning because it's trendy or because I was bullied, and obviously that has nothing to do with anything, I wanted to be a girl at different points in my childhood but it wasn't until puberty started to kick in that it was really problematic for me, and it wasn't until I was 16,17 that I knew that transitioning as a legit real thing and that I could do it.
Prior to that I had just planned to live as a very effimminate man.
I never hid my interests and my mom always had an issue with my "feminine" interests but I did tone my feminine mannerisms and such when at home

Maybe its just that I've never felt that way, but I don't get why genitalia is so important. I would be fine with either, I think. A dick doesn't define me. Some people compare puberty during pre-hrt to be a slow and latent poison that puts a haze over their life. Some people describe feeling a disconnect between their body image and who they are by feeling frustrated and angered at their gendered features (think Descarte's split between body and mind). It can manifest in similar ways like trans people hating mirrors or wearing hoodies to hide their body.

Most tellingly, a rather unifying feeling is the sense of longing to be the other sex countenanced by the stigma around transitioning. Things like "I hate my body. Puberty sucks why is this happening to me? I want to be a girl but I'm not trans. Though I wish I was trans so I'd have an excuse to be a girl" is common.

A lot of trans people begin to get frustrated or hate cis people because so many cis people can't grasp the concept of what dysphoria feels like or cant draw a division between gender identity and sexual preference. Dysphoria and feeling trans is hard to explain without writing a bunch of poetry and wankery flexing vocabulary. It just plain sucks.
